I partner with nonprofit teams to step back from the noise, find clarity, and align around what truly matters—so they can act with purpose amidst the chaos. I bring a thoughtful, grounded approach, cross-sector insight, and just enough spark to turn information overload into confident, sustained progress.

About

Hello! My name is Will Ritter, and I work with nonprofits, community organizations, and the individuals who lead them to more effectively achieve their missions. As both a practitioner and a consultant, my experience is rooted in both the theory of organizational effectiveness and the on-the-ground realities of managing an organization.
Since 2022, I have served on the executive team of the Community Economic Defense Project, a large anti-poverty nonprofit based in Colorado. At CEDP, I have led several functions spanning client intake, cross-program service coordination, public benefit services, and strategy & analytics. I currently lead strategic planning, organization-wide transformations, and cross-functional operations initiatives.
I received my MBA in Stanford’s Social Innovation program, where I gained both academic and professional experience in nonprofit operations and scaling social ventures.
As a consultant, I guided the growth and strategy of Kearney’s Social Impact & Sustainability practice. During this time, I honed my skills consulting with organizations on a breadth of systemic issues – from developing the strategy for a new waste-reduction endeavor at the World Economic Forum, to analyzing 10- and 30-year opportunities for a global health company to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions. In parallel, I supported smaller organizations outside of my day-to-day responsibilities, including designing a donor outreach strategy at a prison reform nonprofit and developing financial plans for a nonprofit addressing childhood behavioral issues.
Currently, I support Chicagoland organizations, nonprofit professionals, and aspiring nonprofit professionals part-time. Please schedule a chat if you would like to discuss more.
